Hi buggie bookers! It's me, Deb, again, back with another review on another book by Gary Ruse. What can I say? Another great mystery by a great author!
The book I just completed reading was called "Murder in Deer Park" by Gary Ruse. It was a great murder mystery novelettethat definitely kept you reading.
It started out with the newly married President of the United States, Grover Cleveland and his bride leaving for their honeymoon in a small town by the name of Deer Park. They are constantly followed by reporters wherever they go. After arriving at their destination, they go about enjoying their honeymoon until a dead body, who happened to be a reporter, is found outside the cottage they were staying in. Here is where I thought it got really interesting, because instead of the president leaving and letting the locals handle it, he stepped up and helped the police in Deer Park lead the investigation. He took the lieutenant and lead him down the right path and uncovered a whole conspiracy that had been unsolved for over a year in the small town. I am not going to give away the the conspiracy, you'll have to read it yourself to find that out! I thought it was a great mystery, 5 buggies out of 5! I thought it was really great how the author used a very reputable past president in a good light. Great work Mr. Ruse! Thanks again for a great book!
